Verification of Competency ( VOC) National Workplace Health and Safety Legislation, effective 1 January 2012, bring greater importance to employers due diligence and obligation to ensure an individual has "current competency"!  Employers must take reasonable and practical steps to ensure the competency of their employees for the work they perform and the operation of workplace plant and equipment.

No longer is just holding a ticket/licence or qualification enough for an employer to believe an individual is competent to do a task or operate a machine.  Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments are used to ensure staff can operate equipment in complete safety.

Assessing for Verification of Competency enables businesses to confirm that their employees are competent in their skills and using equipment. It is commonly used by many industries for pre-employment checks or prior to contractual employment.  VOC’s can be conducted onsite without interrupting productivity and with minimum disruption and down time.  Participants must provide their current machine licenses or relevant Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency prior to VOC's being conducted.

Course Content Assessments take place on a worksite you choose, usually where you work or a site you've been given permission to use. Our assessments include theory questions, verbal questioning and a practical demonstration one on one with our trainer/assessor.

Outcomes: If deemed competent, the participant will receive a Certificate of Competency that can be used as evidence of current competency.  Participant will also be issued with a wallet size photo card to state verification of competency conducted.

Duration: Each assessment will take approximately 2-3 hours and will depend on the type of plant and/or equipment or task being assessed.

Pricing: Contact us for up to date information regarding our pricing. Pricing is dependent on the number of applicants, location of worksite and resources.

What if the person is not competent?

If the Verification of Competency Assessment found that they were not yet competent, the individual would then be advised of any additional Gap Training they’d need to undertake in order to be deemed competent again.

Our Trainer/Assessors are industry experts with years of experience and they hold all relevant qualifications.
